Social Psychology

University of Milano-Bicocca

Overview

Since the academic year 2025/2026, I have been teaching the course Social Psychology at the University of Milano-Bicocca within the Bachelor's degree program in Social Work, Department of Sociology and Social Research.

The course examines the main processes of social psychology that regulate the relationship between individuals and their social context. After an introduction to the theoretical and methodological foundations of the discipline, the course addresses social cognition and attribution processes, mechanisms of social influence, and the formation and change of attitudes. It further explores stereotypes, prejudice, dehumanization, and social exclusion. A specific section is devoted to group dynamics and decision-making processes, with particular attention to interactions in organizational contexts relevant to social services.

Through lectures and guided discussions, the course presents core concepts and empirical findings of social psychology, complemented by examples and audiovisual materials used to clarify the theoretical content covered.

Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action by the United Nations to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure peace and prosperity for all by 2030. These interconnected goals provide a shared framework for addressing the world's most urgent social, economic, and environmental challenges.
